Christmas Memories

Lot’s of us have Christmas memories that we cherish. Times spent with family and friends, shopping together for that perfect gift for someone, planning a big dinner to celebrate the holidays with. You know the ones. Most of us have them.
I recall a Christmas where my daughter became upset because she was told there was no Santa Claus. Needless to say, Christmas being for kids mostly, I took care of that for her. Unfortunately, there are countless numbers of folks who won’t be celebrating the holidays again this year. Some, for reasons not of their choosing, are out of work, lost their home or are struggling to make ends meet. A lot of these people see no reason to celebrate the holidays like those of us who are able to.
Please remember these folks in your prayers and show them some kindness this holiday season. They have no one else to offer them a helping hand, a pat on the back or a warm cup of hot chocolate. You don’t realize just how close to landing in their situation you really are.
While you’re at it, even though our troops have left Iraq, there are those who are still in harm’s way. Send up a few words for them as well. I’m sure they’d appreciate it.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
